While Via is now teething (oh what fun), she is also now trying to have full blown conversations. I'm not entirely sure just yet if she's having them with us or with herself, but she seems to be quite adamant about her points! :p
Learn Baby Signs. They are awesome and soooo helpful when kids starting wanting things but don't yet have words for them. So helpful!! I strongly believe baby signs reduce those "terrible twos" as well, since kids can better express themselves and are therefore less frustrated.
Sorry about the daycare thing. That doesn't sound like fun. Do you have a pacifier strap? They clip on to her pacifier and on to her clothes. Maybe that would help them? Good luck!
